On March 17, 2016 Joran van der Sloot revealed why he murdered a young woman in Peru named Stephanie Flores.  In an undercover video, van der Sloot explained, ” ‘. . .you can’t imagine this if you don’t use drugs yourself— I convinced myself that she was part of the FBI. . .I really convinced myself that,’ he said, grinning. ‘And that was the reason why I murdered her.’

Oscar Pistorius to return to prison

It is being reported on March 3, 2016 that the Constitutional Court in South Africa has rejected Oscar Pistorius’s appeal against his murder conviction. “”We can confirm that Oscar Pistorius’ leave to appeal has been denied,” National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Luvuyo Mfaku told Reuters.”  The double-amputee Olympian now faces at least 15 years in jail — a new sentence will be handed down on April 18, 2016.

Two men stand trial for stealing Amanda Knox’s knives and Meredith Kercher’s mattress

It is being reported in Italian news that two men stood in court for breaking into the cottage that Erasmus scholar Meredith Kercher was murdered in.  An unidentified Italian native and a foreigner, two males, burglarized the cottage on Via della Pergola, two times, once in February 2009 and again in March 2009.

Amanda Knox co-defendant Rudy Guede working on a publication and online store

It is being reported in Italian news that the Ivorian embassy paid a visit to Amanda Knox co-defendant Rudy Guede.  Guede was born in the Ivory Coast before being brought to Italy at the age of five by his father and growing up Italian.  He described all of this in his January 21, 2016 interview with Franca Leosini on television show Storie Maledette.

Amanda Knox ex lashes out at Leosini

It is being reported in the Italian news that Raffaele Sollecito, the media-loving ex-boyfriend of Amanda Knox, has again threatened the host of Italian hit show Storie Maledette (Cursed Stories), Franca Leosini. Sollecito said on a radio program, “She was injured my image, I will sue the Leosini”

Amanda Knox ex’s eight lies and Rudy’s response

After Rudy Guede’s interview on Storie Maledette (Cursed Stories) exploded on the scene, his co-defendants have responded in opposite ways. While Amanda Knox adopts the Cosby-code-of-silence, Raffaele Sollecito has come out swinging. Sollecito gave an interview in a prominent Italian newspaper listing eight reasons why he wants you to believe that Rudy Guede is the sole killer. Rudy Guede’s attorneys have responded to these eight lies via his facebook page today. “Guede has opened a Facebook profile – managed by the Centre for Criminological studies of Viterbo” which speaks directly to Amanda Knox’s ex-lover for the world to read.

VERDICT NOT IN YET:Michelle Carter pushed Conrad Roy to suicide.

The case of Michelle Carter who encouraged her boyfriend Conrad Roy III to commit suicide has been referred to the Supreme Judicial Court. The teenage girl who texted her boyfriend, insisting that he follow through with killing himself in July 2014 is facing involuntary manslaughter charges.  Supreme Judicial Court Justice Margot “Botsford referred the case to the full Supreme Judicial Court and is targeting a May hearing, according to her Feb. 1 ruling.”

Lawyers volunteer to help Amanda Knox co-defendant Rudy Guede

After Rudy Guede’s sensational interview on Italian TV show Storie Maledette (Cursed Stories), viewed by 1.5 million people, lawyers have offered to help.  It is being reported today that there has been an outpouring of support for Guede.  Lawyers have come forward and offered to work pro bono to help Guede get a retrial.

Rudy Guede is serving a 16-year sentence for being an accomplice to murdering Meredith Kercher, a British exchange student and former roommate of Amanda Knox.   Kercher was found stabbed to death on November 1, 2007 in Perugia, Italy.  Rudy was convicted of the murder and sexual assault in October 2008, while Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were acquitted last year.

Rudy Guede said, “I instructed to two colleges of lawyers and Roman Viterbo, who will follow my defense and for the specific needs and to evaluate the possibility of a retrial.”  After Guede’s interview aired many people have written him message of support on his new Twitter and Facebook pages.  “I want to thank – says Rudy Guede – all the lawyers these days are proposed to take my defense on a voluntary basis, as well as all the people who have expressed solidarity ‘to me. I’m touched.”

His interview, which has been translated into English by volunteer Eric Paroissien, has been published online.

The physical evidence in any crime is the only way to know for certain what took place. In any violent crime scene, investigators may obtain a wealth of information from the blood stain patterns.  The patterns reveal major clues and possibly solve crimes.  Unlike the suspects, the blood patterns do not lie.  This article introduces blood stain analysis followed by one of Italy’s top forensic experts opinion – Colonel Luciano Garofano on the blood stains in the Meredith Kercher murder case.

“BPA [Blood Pattern Analysis] provides information not only about what happened, but just as importantly, what could not have happened. This information can assist the investigator in reconstructing the crime, corroborating statements from witnesses, and including or excluding potential perpetrators from the investigation.”

When blood drops or splatters on a surface, the shape can be used to calculate the location of where someone was struck and in what direction.
