South Africa’s top appeals court has upgraded Oscar Pistorius’s conviction from ‘culpable homicide’ or manslaughter to murder today for the death of Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius shot and killed Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013. In October 2014 Pistorius was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to five years.

Michelle Carter trial moved to January 21, 2016


Michelle Carter,18, the Massachusetts teen charged with murder for encouraging her friend to commit suicide via text, appeared in court today. Her lawyer. Joseph P. Cataldo, wants all charges thrown out but the judge rescheduled the trial to January 21, 2016.

Oklahoma parade crash was intentional
It is being reported on November 21, 2015 that the woman responsible for driving into a parade in Oklahoma last month killing four people, was not under the influence of alcohol. It is believed that she deliberately drove her car into the sea of spectators at the homecoming parade.
Rutgers professor files motion against conviction of sexually assaulting a disabled man
It is being reported on November 8, 2015 that the former head of the philosophy department at Rutgers-Newark University, Anna Stubblefield, has requested an acquittal or new trial after her conviction on October 2, 2015 for sexual assault. “Stubblefield was convicted . . . of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault. The sexual acts occurred in her Newark office in 2011.”
Joyce Mitchell ordered to pay $80,000 for NY Prison Break
It is being reported on November 6, 2015 that Joyce Mitchell, the former prison seamstress who helped two convicted murderers escape a New York State prison last June has been ordered to pay $80,000 in damages.

The teenage girl who texted her boyfriend, insisting that he follow through with killing himself in July 2014 is due back in court at the end of the month. “Carter, 18, is facing involuntary manslaughter charges in a Massachusetts juvenile court over the suicide of her boyfriend.”

Oscar Pistorius back in court
It is being reported on November 3, 2015 that the Oscar Pistorius appeals trial began in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Pistorius was found guilty of manslaughter or culpable homicide in October 2014. He was sentenced to five years and released into house arrest last month after 12 months in prison.
