Oscar Pistorius to wait up to four months for decision on his release

It is being reported on August 20, 2015 that Oscar Pistorius may have to wait up to four months for the review board to make a decision about his early release.  Pistorius was sentence to five years or 60 months for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Judge decides on pre-trial motion in Hannah Graham murder case

It is being reported on August 20, 2015 that a judge is deciding on the pre-trial motions of Hannah Graham’s murder case.  Jesse Matthew Jr. has been charged with abducting and murdering the University of Virginia student.  Graham went missing on September 12, 2014 which set off a nationwide manhunt.  Surveillance  video showed Graham with Matthew and a month later Graham’s remains were found in Albemarle County.

Oscar Pistorius release from prison postponed

Oscar Pistorius, the Olympic athlete who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend Reva Steenkamp last year, was scheduled for an early release this Friday, August 21, 2015.  However, his liberation is now off now as Justice Minister Michael Masutha reconsiders the early exit.

Feds fine Smart City $750,000 for blocking internet access at conventions

Smart City

Smart City, a company that provides internet services to convention centers around the U.S. has been busted for blocking people from using their personal internet providers.  People who wanted to access the web from their smart phones at convention centers were required by Smart City to pay $80 for one day of service.

A group of hackers calling themselves ‘the Impact Group’ have breached a website catering to cheating spouses.  Ashley Madison’s  motto “Life is short.  Have an affair” boasts having almost 40 million anonymous members.  Now the private data of the users has been laid bare.

Boston marathon murderer demands new trial

Lawyers for Boston Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, said in court on Monday, August 17, 2015 that “he deserves a new trial in a different location where jurors will be impartial.”  The bomber’s defense claims that there was so much support for the victims of the Boston marathon bombing that, in the defense’s opinion, it denied him a fair trial.
