It is being reported on August 21, 2015 that the two12-year-old girls who attempted to kill their friend in a sacrifice to the fictitious character Slenderman, plead not guilty in court today. The two girls, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, now 13, are being tried as adults and face decades in prison.
“Investigators have said the two plotted for months to lure their friend Payton Leutner into the woods after a sleepover. They intended to kill her, police say, to win the favor of Slender Man, described as an unnaturally tall and thin man who wears a dark suit and has no visible facial features. Slender Man stories have proliferated online in recent years.”
The judge entered two not guilty pleas on the girls behalf Friday. “The girls did not speak on their own behalf at their arraignments Friday because the judge has not yet issued his written order denying their effort to have their cases transferred to juvenile court and their attorneys continue to object to the adult jurisdiction.”
The judge ruled that both girls will be tried together. The trial is scheduled to start on October 15, 2015.
