Sitting quietly in the courtroom of Taunton District Courthouse at nine A.M. a packed audience, comprised mainly of journalists,  jumps up duteously.  His Honor has entered the room.  Massachusetts Taunton District Court, a newly constructed building, opened in 2011.  Bright, clean, sunny and spacious, the ambience seems intended to help placate its visitors; the masses of unfortunate souls who pass through the glass enclosed entrance many enduring the darkest times of their life.  A trial concerning a suicide strikes a collective nerve.

Fourth day of Michelle Carter trial

On Thursday, June 8, 2017 the fourth day of Michelle Carter’s trial to determine whether she will be convicted for involuntary manslaughter continued.  The prosecution called three witnesses, two state police electronics experts and the medical examiner.

Tweets of Michelle Carter trial for sending suicide texts

Michelle Carter is in court this week being tried for involuntary manslaughter for influencing 18-year-old Conrad Roy into committing suicide in July 2014.  There is more than one reporter live tweeting the trial and some very interesting information is being shared.

One new revelation is that Carter chose to not have a jury in her trial but only a judge decide her fate.  Another new insight is Carter has her own mental health issues that she was seeing a therapist for at the time of Roy’s suicide.  This was new news to the prosecutor who seemed skeptical about it.

Is ISIL involved with criminal ring stealing cars from Americans and shipping them to Africa?

It is being reported on January 29, 2017 that a man who was part of a criminal ring that stole luxury automobiles from Americans and then shipped them to West Africa was sentenced.  29-year-old New Jersey resident, Donell Carroll, was given 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering.

Amanda Knox hater troll list – STDs blatant attempt to intimidate justice seekers

I’d like to take a moment to address a wordpress website which has me as one of the featured people.  It is a site called ‘Knox hater troll site’ and it lists individuals who understand the facts surrounding the murder of Meredith Kercher and who have exercised their right to express their opinion that Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede are all guilty.

The real title on that blog should be ‘Justice Seekers’ as that is what they are.  The Italian supreme court may have acquitted Amanda and Raffaele for ‘insufficient evidence’ but the murder suspects have NOT been found innocent of the crime. (Indeed Amanda Knox’s conviction for criminal slander or calunnia was upheld by ISC.)  Also in the court of public opinion, they are far from innocent.  This is shown in a recent article about Amanda’s accusation against an innocent black man for the crime.

Slenderman stabbers to be tried as adults

It is being reported on July 27, 2016 that the two 12-year-old girls who stabbed their classmate 19 times will stand trial as adults.  An appeals court in Madison, Wisconsin decided that they should be tried as adults, facing up to 65 years in prison.  If they were tried as juveniles, they would only be incarcerated up to the age of 18.

Arrests made in case of burnt body in upstate NY

It is being reported on July 7, 2016 that police have arrested two people, a man and woman, in connection with a burnt corpse discovered in Caledonia, NY.  The couple is being charged with murder and tampering with evidence.   At the current time, few details are being released.

Two black men shot by police in two days

It is being reported on July 7, 2016 that a shocking video showing a 32-year-old black man, Philando Castile, bleeding to death after being shot by a police officer, has been published on Facebook.  This comes just one day after an earlier video was released of another black man, 37-year-old Alton Sterling, being shot by the police.

Examiner.com is shutting down

It is being reported that news website examiner.com is shutting down soon.  “Michael Roth, a Los Angeles-based spokesman for Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) . . . notes that “we did not put out a statement” announcing Examiner.com’s demise.”  In an email to examiner.com writers it was announced that the website would “close down on or around July 10, 2016.”

Paul Bernardo, Canada’s most notorious murderer/rapist applies for day parole

It is being reported on July 3, 2016 that the most notorious Canadian rapist and murderer, Paul Bernardo, has applied for day parole.  Legal experts say it is very unlikely that he will be allowed parole.  “Criminal lawyer Daniel Brown says Bernardo’s chances of release from jail, now or in the future however, are virtually nil.”  Bernardo’s victims have been contacted and they are directed to send impact statement by July 14, 2016.
