Perugia was the final stop on a trip I took to several sites in central Italy. The last time I was in the country was several years prior, long enough ago that I haven’t had to understand spoken Italian and had some difficulty understanding what people were saying. When I first landed in Rome I had difficulty making out almost anything, but over the week and a half before I got to Perugia it started coming back to me and I was able to get around, order, understand the train announcements, and get the sense of what people were saying.

Yingying Zhang abductor now charged with her death

It is being reported on October 3, 2017 that the main suspect in the disappearance of Chinese exchange student, Yingying Zhang, has received new charges.  The federal grand jury indicted Brendt Christensen on kidnapping in an “especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner” resulting in her death.  He was already charged with kidnapping but now they have added death.

On the second day of the Anissa Weier trial in the Slenderman stabbing case, a detective, a teacher,  and a forensic psychologist took the stand.  First detective Shelly Fisher described her interview with the victim, Peyton and evidence that she retrieved from the perpetrators school lockers.  Then Dr. Melisaa Westendorf testified about her expert opinion of Anissa’s mental state.
