It is being reported on October 14, 2015 that the Bali suitcase killer Heather Mack’s uncle went to court to prevent Mack from receiving her trust fund money.  “William Wiese, the uncle of Heather Mack, plans to file a petition in an Illinois court to ensure his niece and her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, do not get a penny from his sister’s $1.56 million trust fund.”

Heather Mack and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer killed her mother on August 12, 2014.  “The half-naked body of 62-year-old Sheila von Wiese-Mack was found stuffed in a suitcase in the back of a taxi outside the five-star St. Regis hotel on the tourist island of Bali.”

Heather and her boyfriend claimed that they bludgeoned her mother in self-defense.  They said Sheila con Wiese-Mack became irate when they informed her of Heather’s pregnancy.  However in September it was revealed that the murder was not an act of passion but premeditated.

Last month Tommy Schaefer’s cousin, Robert Justin Bibbs, 24, texted instructions to Schaefer on how to go about the killing.   Bibbs helped to coordinate the attack and expected to receive a share of Mack’s inheritance in return.  Bibbs was arrested on September 23, 2015 for his involvement in the crime.

“Shortly before von Wiese-Mack, 62, was bludgeoned to death, Schaefer allegedly texted Bibbs saying the couple had unsuccessfully tried causing the mother to overdose on medication. . .The complaint says Schaefer then texted Bibbs that Mack was in the Bali hotel room with her sleeping mother and that she wanted him to come over and kill her right away.”

Schaefer was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder and Mack was sentenced to 10 years as an accomplice to murder.  It was originally believed in court that Schaeffer was more responsible for the killing but later on, texts revealed that they were both plotting it together.

Text messages between Mack and Schaeffer show them planning to hit Sheila to death while she lay sleeping.  Mack typed: “Literally cant wait . . .

Schaefer: ‘Go with your gut baby. Just your gut. Of the room. I’ll be outside! If u need me I’ll hear it.’

Mack: ‘How do you know. Just come here’. . .

Mack: ‘G i think i need you in here too. Okay ill try.’

Schaefer: ‘Try your best. We got nothin to lose right now. Trust me baby. I got you. Can u wack her in the head with a big (expletive) pole.'”

Heather Mack gave birth to daughter, Stella, on March 17, 2015.

“Mack’s uncle plans on filing the petition under the Illinois Slayer Statute, which is designed to prevent people from benefiting financially from a crime.”
