Meghan Markle sues UK news outlets with Princess Diana’s lawyer

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended a pre-trial hearing in the UK this morning.  This hearing concerned legal action which was initiated by Meghan and Harry.  At the end of their South African tour last September,  they announced that they are suing the British press.  This case concerns a letter Meghan wrote to her father.  Meghan claims it was an invasion of her privacy when the British media published it.

While the date has not yet been set for the official trial, the Mail on Sunday kicked things off  with this pre-trial where they asked the court to strike off some of Meghan Markle’s accusations.

It was a virtual trial that Meghan and Harry logged in from Los Angeles at 4:00 am PST and the British Media attended from the UK.  Royal Editor, Chris Ship, listened in on the hearing and tweeted updates throughout.

Meghan has had a life long obsession with Princess Diana, according her her childhood friend Ninaki Priddy.  So it is *interesting* that Princess Diana’s former lawyer or barrister David Sherborne is representing Meghan during this internet trial.

It may also be speculated that it was articles like the interviews with Meghan’s former friend Priddy, that really led to this lawsuit against the British media.

Meghan appears to be very concerned with her public image which is why she has retained one of the most powerful PR firms – Sunshine Sachs to curate her media image.

The judge will decide in the next week whether to side with Meghan and Princess Diana’s lawyer or with the Mail on Sunday.
