It is being reported on June 28, 2017 that Amanda Knox’s ex- partner-in-crime, Raffaele Sollecito has been denied compensation for wrongful imprisonment – again. This was Sollecito’s second trip to the courthouse after an initial trial on the same claim was rejected last February. The Italian judges in the first court stated that the reason for the denial being the fact that Raffaele lied to the police.
The infamous knife collector was hoping to whittle down the current tribunal with his tales of financial hardship. Apparently, this did not work out any better the second time around. Amanda Knox is prohibited from attempting to sue for wrongful imprisonment since the Italian supreme court upheld her conviction for criminal slander (calunnia) in 2015. Amanda Knox falsely accused her employer of murder.
The Italian Supreme court also concluded that Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda Knox were both present in the cottage when Meredith Kercher was murdered. They found ample evidence of Amanda Knox washing the victim’s blood from her hands. However, in the end they decided the evidence wasn’t sufficient enough to prove without a doubt that they were actively involved in stabbing Meredith Kercher to death.

Last week I had a couple of days off and I travelled to South England to visit some well known gardens and to enjoy the beautiful landscape and the refreshing seeside as well.
It’s really spectacular there. Dreamlike !
But I also seized the opportunity and visited the grave of Meredith Kercher at Croydon to honor her, to pray for her and her family and to pause for a moment in silence.
Following the circumstances of her forcibly death on Internet or by reading books and other sources is one thing but standing there right in front of her grave in real life ….. It makes things completely different. Believe me. It was hard to take.
It showed very clearly and without any mercy what they (to the best of my belief: Rudy Guede, Raffaele Sollecito & Amanda Knox all three together) really have done that tragic night of Nov. 1, 2007.
A human life …. taken away without any reason. Only to satisfy a morbid impulse, to take revenge, to show who’s chief or whatever ….. but for sure: Without any palpable sense.
An event not graspable by human standards.
Perhaps a planned deliberate attack. Perhaps things went out of control under the influence of drugs. Howsoever. In any case a complete derailment with an intangible result that can be seen at Croydon cemetery now. Today and forever.
Sad ! Only sad !
Against this background it’s dead right not to give Sollecito any money. This is legally precise and it’s morally correct as well. It doesn’t heal the damage caused by the – in my eyes illegal – acquittal of 03.27.2015 but it’s a step in the right direction now. A little step back to justice and real truth.
Hope we will see more of that.

Very well said Voice of Europe. A tragedy on the internet pales in comparison to impact it has in real life.
The actions shown nowadays by three suspects no longer hide their role in the crime. On what are they focused most individually? Overcompensations, visual and acoustic Rorschach tests everywhere.
A thin line between looking out for your welfare and being overprotective on social media platforms. The court of public opinion is still active and the internet never forget.
