Yingying Zhang abductor now charged with her death

It is being reported on October 3, 2017 that the main suspect in the disappearance of Chinese exchange student, Yingying Zhang, has received new charges.  The federal grand jury indicted Brendt Christensen on kidnapping in an “especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner” resulting in her death.  He was already charged with kidnapping but now they have added death.

Judge tells Michelle Carter that she cannot be ‘an Amanda Knox’ as she gets 15 month sentence

 

It is being reported on August 3, 2017 that Michelle Carter was sentenced to fifteen months in prison and the same amount of a suspended sentence.  Judge Moniz handed Carter a total of two and a half years in court with half of the sentence suspended.  Carter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter last month in the death of her friend Conrad Roy III.

Yingying Zhang abductor pleads ‘Not guilty’ back in court August 28

It is being reported on July 20, 2017 that the man charged with kidnapping Chinese scholar Yingying Zhang was arraigned in federal court today.  Brendt Christensen spoke briefly, entering a plea of “not guilty.”

“The killer walks free and does whatever he wants.”  These were the words spoken by Ronald Goldman’s father on TV just hours before O.J. Simpson went before a parole board.  Mr. Goldman spoke about the problems with the justice system- giving violent offenders a second chance.  Victims and their families don’t get a second chance.

Jeffrey Willis to start trial for multiple murders in September 2017

 

 

It was reported on June 19, 2017 that the man responsible for abducting and murdering  gas station attendant, Jessica Heeringa in Michigan in 2013 has been arrested and is set to stand trial on September 12, 2017.  47-year-old Jeffrey Willis is also being charged with the murder of jogger Rebekah Bletsch in 2014 and an attempted kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in 2016.

“No, no, no!” Italian courts tell Amanda Knox ex

Raffaele Sollecito is denied compensation for a second time by Italian courts

 

It is being reported on June 28, 2017 that Amanda Knox’s ex- partner-in-crime, Raffaele Sollecito has been denied compensation for wrongful imprisonment – again.  This was Sollecito’s second trip to the courthouse after an initial trial on the same claim was rejected last February.    The Italian judges in the first court stated that the reason for the denial being the fact that Raffaele lied to the police.

O.J. Simpson parole hearing set for July 20th

 

It is being reported on June 21, 2017 that former football star O.J. Simpson has a parole hearing set for July 20, 2017.  Simpson is serving a 33 year sentence for his part in an armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008.  Nine years into his sentence, he is now getting a chance to be paroled.
