It is being reported on November 13, 2017 that a San Diego court witnessed a performance worthy of an Oscar. 45-year-old Diana Lovejoy and her 50-year-old gun instructor, Weldon McDavid, were found guilty of attempted murder. Lovejoy had contracted McDavid to kill her estranged husband.
The jury deliberated for less than a day, before handing down guilty verdicts to both defendants. This was the cue for Lovejoy to reportedly “faint” with her eyes open and her body stiff as a board.
Her co-conspirator then took over the spotlight, McDavid covered his face and shook his head, appearing to be sobbing. However, the audience could clearly see his dry eyes.
They were convicted of luring her unsuspecting spouse to a dirt road in an upscale section of SoCal and filled him with lead. But Lovejoy’s better half survived the attack.
One of the strong pieces of evidence against the duo was the testimony that Lovejoy asked her aunt if she knew anyone who would kill her husband.
They are scheduled to be sentenced on December 12, 2017. Lovejoy is expected to receive at least 25 years to life in prison. The shooter, McDavid, faces 50 to life.
