It is being reported on March 24, 2016 that Italian foundation called ‘Sergioperlamusica’ is proposing a concert for the late Meredith Kercher. Meredith Kercher was a British exchange student who was murdered in Perugia, Italy in 2007. The concert is part of an event scheduled for June 20, 2016 which will highlight significant moments in Perugia, Italy’s history.
The president of the Foundation, Virgilio Ambroglini said, “We would like to make a big event on the date that truly identifies the history of Perugia.” He went on to explain that their plans were ambitious and depended upon obtaining the moral and financial backing necessary. However, their plans include adding Meredith Kercher to the Golden Book of the city. The Golden Book or Libro d’Oro refers to the official registry of honored citizens and nobility as in the Golden Books of Rome and Venice.
Also to honor Meredith Kercher, a concert with musicians from Italy and Britain will perform together. This event will include the cooperation of the British and Italian governments. Ambroglini told supporters, “The future depends on us, but this time not only by us, if there is no unity of purpose and shared values also to defeat the rampant hatred and violence.”
