It is being reported on January 16, 2016 that the Italian television show, Cursed Stories was snubbed by CNN when they tried to purchase 40 seconds of video of Amanda Knox. The footage was requested for their upcoming interview with Rudy Guede, the third suspect in the murder of Meredith Kercher.
When Franca Leosini, a well-respected media personality in Italy, tried to purchase a short video clip of Knox from CNN she was rebuffed. CNN has been perceived as giving more favorable coverage towards Knox’s defense over the years.
Leosini said, “I have a pro-American position and I have nothing against America, but it is a fact that we can not prosecute their citizens . To give you an example, and it is something that happened yesterday, for this installment we asked CNN to buy 40 seconds of footage of Amanda Knox, in defense of which at the time of the trial were formed committees on committees, and the response was No. An amazing thing, which is extremely serious, a real censorship.”
While the other two former convicted murderers, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have received millions of dollars in book deals and given countless interviews, Guede has remained silent, until now. For the first time in eight years, Rudy Guede will break his silence. Cursed Stories promises new and revealing information about what took place the night Meredith Kercher was brutally murdered. The show airs on January 21, 2016.
