Miami Metrorail security guard, Air Force veteran, dies from gunshot, killer still on the loose

It is being reported on August 29, 2015 that Metrorail station security guard, Keith Cox, who was shot on Tuesday by an unknown assailant, died today Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Cox was working the night shift at Plaza Metrorail Station located at 6205 NW 27th Avenue in Miami, FL when he was shot at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“Police said that a witness reported seeing a male running away from the scene and entering a dark-colored vehicle, which fled eastbound on Northwest 64th Street. The incident is still under investigation.”

Keith Cox was an employee of 50 State Security for five years.  Before that he served in the military for eight years with U.S. Air Force.  He was injured in 1991 when he served in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq.
“His daughter, Latajna Gill, who currently lives in England, told the Miami Herald that Cox was going to be a grandfather for the second time.”
His family asks the public to help find their father’s killer.
