Amanda Knox and her followers are known to spread misinformation about the Meredith Kercher murder case around the internet. However, it seems that recently, Amanda Knox’s PR influence has resulted in biased news being given top priority on Google News.
Amanda Knox supporters have always used social media, which now includes Google News to attack the memory of Meredith Kercher and her family. They regularly tweet members of the Kercher family and leave comments on various news articles to spread their vitriol and untruths.
After doing a search in the Google News website for the murder victim’s name “Meredith Kercher” the first two articles that Google News brings up include an article with the title in all capital letters, “RINGSIDE AT THE SLEAZE CIRCUS, MEREDITH KERCHER’S LEGACY.”
This capitalized article is a pro-Amanda Knox piece created to spread more falsehoods about the murder case. This is news? No it’s not. It is Amanda Knox propaganda on the Google News search engine.
Exactly how certain articles or websites are selected for Google News remains somewhat of a mystery. On Google News website it states, “Sites included in Google News should offer timely reporting on matters that are important or interesting to our audience. We generally do not include how-to articles, advice columns, job postings, or strictly informational content such as weather forecasts and stock data.”
While some say an article or website requires certain standards before being accepted into Google News, other questionable websites seem to enjoy unfettered access and post all kinds of articles which don’t adhere to any recognized formatting guidelines.
Amanda Knox’s fervent followers are becoming more bold and brazen as Knox’s final appeal fast approaches. It is set to take place at the end of the year. After which, it is expected that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito will have their guilty convictions finalized and begin to serve their 28.5 and 25 year prison sentences respectively.
